Afghanistan
Afghanistan, located in Southern Asia, is officially known as the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and it is a landlocked nation. Afghanistan has rich deposits of natural resources including natural gas, coal, marble, gold, petroleum, copper, chromite, iron ore, talc, barites, sulfur, lead, zinc, salt and precious and semi-precious stones. It is a member of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation, Economic Cooperation Organization and the Organization of the Islamic Conference. Main industries of the country include textiles, soap, furniture, shoes, fertilizer, cement, hand-woven rugs, natural gas, coal, petroleum and copper. |
